Trust

A Trust has been formed. It is known as Filby Lands & Conservation Trust.

A Committee to run the Trust has been established.  A constitution (download) has been drafted and solicitors appointed. A bank account has been opened. This Website and a Facebook page have been constructed.

A launch event planned for 24th March 2020 was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 – 19 emergency. This will be rescheduled when normality returns. A press announcement of the formation of the Trust has been issued.

The Trust has purchased an initial plot of land in the Village, size approximately half an acre, behind the Village Church, to be planted up as a Community Woodland. See Map1, Map2, Map3, Photos.

The Trust had been successful in getting grant aid to buy the land (Essex & Suffolk Water Branch Out funding). It has, also, obtained the gift of some woodland trees (Woodland Trust) and, now, continues to raise funds for Hedgerow trees, Wildflower Meadow planting and to create a Wildlife Pond.

It is off to a great start but cannot do this without your help. Please donate via our Just Giving page, the Donations Page of this website or just pop cash into Filby Village Post Office and Store.

The Committee would welcome the involvement of the whole community. If you would like to assist in any way, either in terms of financial support, expertise, or practical work, then please contact Ken Saul on 01493 369021 or email kensaul@stone-angel.co.uk.
